Stink Bugs
What Are Stink Bugs?
Stink bugs are small insects belonging to the order Hemiptera. They are often known as shield bugs due to the triangular shape of their back. Adult stink bugs grow to a maximum length of a little less than an inch. Stink bugs have small glands located in their thorax that can emit a foul odor when the bug feels threatened or is squished.

Things You Should Know:
- Stink bugs do not breed inside homes.
- They are not dangerous to humans but can still be a nuisance.
- Stink bugs emit a foul odor when they feel threatened.
- Stink bugs cause severe damage to vegetables, fruit orchards, and other crops.
Why Are They In My House?
Like many other common New York pests, stink bugs often find their way indoors in search of a warm place to hide during the cold winter months. They gain entry through cracks and crevices around doors and windows, tears in screens, and openings around pipes and vents.
Are Stink Bugs Dangerous?
Stink bugs are not a threat to humans or pets and they will not breed inside your home. They are, however, considered an agricultural pest, as in large numbers they can severely damage orchards of fruits, vegetables, and other crops.

“I read many great reviews about Parkway Pest Service. All of them were great and made me comfortable to seek help with them and they didn’t disappoint. My tech was quick and punctual in his appointment; he came within the expected window and gave me updates about what to expect in the next few days. He was very professional and polite. The office was very pleasant. When I was trying to get an appointment, she helped me with treatment options and went through the calendar that worked for both of us.”- Ahmad J.

“They were very professional; they confirmed that, luckily, I did not have squirrels in the attic, and most likely what I heard was them running on top of the roof.”- Debra C.
I would certainly use them in the future if need be.
"I contacted Parkway Pest Control as I thought I heard squirrels in my attic/crawlspace. They were very professional; they confirmed that, luckily, I did not have squirrels in the attic, and most likely what I heard was them running on top of the roof. It was a relief. They also gave me some pointers for the future, if I should ever suspect that I do have squirrels in that area — what to do to determine, if they actually are there before contacting them. Their pricing was competitive. I would certainly use them in the future if need be."- Debra C. -
