The camel cricket is light brown in color with dark spots or bands on segments.

Crickets prefer cool, moist areas. These crickets are usually found outside homes, under mulch piles, paving stones and woodpiles. They can be found indoors as well. The best way to control camel crickets is to prevent them from entering your home in the first place. Make your home less desirable by getting rid of the places camel crickets are likely to hide. Also, try keeping rooms dry by using fans and dehumidifiers.

You should also seal off entry points and move yard debris and woodpiles away from the outside of your home, usually at least 20 feet away from the foundation.
